Astronomy Class

Explore the cosmos and enjoy great wine at this fun and educational event led by Dan Johnson, owner of Kansas City based Astronomy Night and Day. Guests will explore the galaxies, planets, nebula, dying stars and orbiting satellites with the help of Dan's 9 foot telescope! 

Tickle your taste buds with a wine tasting while the sky darkens, followed by an informative presentation and culminating with guests taking turns looking at the wonders of the sky. We will have a bar set up for purchase of wine glasses and bottles as well as beer once the wine tasting has concluded.

There will be two separate sessions for this event, the first on Friday evening and a second session of the same presentation on Saturday evening. The cost to attend is $30/person and tickets can be purchased at our website. The program will go on rain or (moon)shine, as we can move it into the event center in the case of inclement weather. Wine Maze

Come find the wine at Walter's Pumpkin Patch! On Saturday, November 4th, Grace Hill Winery will be setting up six secret sipping stations in the corn maze at Walter's Pumpkin Patch and it's up to you to find them! Each station will have a dry and a sweet wine option as well as a food sample to keep a nice base in your belly!

Tickets for this event are $25 per person and include admission to the maze, six wine tastings, as well as your wine glass. This is a come and go event so you are welcome to show up any time between 12pm and 3pm to enter the maze. See you there as you wine your way through the maze!

A delicious afternoon awaits at Grace Hill as our local chefs Keith and Laura have prepared another delectable menu to accompany Grace Hill Wines.

1st Course - Sausage Roll
2nd Course - Laura's Tomato Soup with Sauteed Veggies
3rd Course - Quinoa & Butternut Squash With Bacon
4th Course - Shepard's Pie with Douglas Ave. Chop Shop Brisket
Final Course - Apple Crisp with Creme Fraiche

Each course will be paired with your choice of a sweet or a dry wine, meaning no matter if you like your wines sweet or if you like them dry, we will have a wine for you. 

Also, we do have Vegetarian and Gluten Free food options as well. The portions are meant as hors d'oeuvres so please do not come expecting a full 5 course meal.

Join us for a fun afternoon of art and wine at our Corks and Canvas painting class! Our resident artist Celina Gillespie will be leading a step by step instructional painting class in which you can create your masterpiece, assuming you don't drink too much wine before it's finished...

Admission for this event is $35 per person and can be purchased at our online store. Your admission includes all the art supplies required as well as a glass of wine. Additional wine will be available for purchase as well, and while we are not providing any food for this event you are welcome to bring your own. We expect the session to last for about 2 hours total. Space is limited so get your tickets today!

Build Your Own Wine Day!

Build Your Own Wine Day!

Play winemaker for a day at Build Your Own Wine Day! We'll be bringing up 3 red wines and 3 white wines from the Grace Hill Wine cellar and allowing you to mix them into a "made for you, by you" blend! You'll be able to make a white, red, or rose, and have it be sweet, dry, or anything in between. Once you've come up with the perfect blend, we'll blend, bottle, cork, and capsule your very own handmade wine right on the spot! Send in a picture ahead of time and we'll put it on the label for you! The custom bottles are a fun way to spruce up your home or wine cellar, and also make great gifts!

Admission is $25 per person and includes a bottle of wine. Additional bottles can be purchased for $20 per bottle. We will have 2 sessions, one at 12:30pm and one at 3pm. Space is limited, so purchase your tickets today at our online store

If you've ever wanted to channel your inner Lucille Ball and stomp on grapes with your bare feet, here is your chance! We'll be heading out into the vineyard at 12pm to pick secondary growth grapes (basically extra grapes that the vines have grown but that won't ever get ripe enough to make into wine), which we'll then bring back to the patio, throw the grapes into large bins, and get to stomping! It's a great time for the whole family and is completely free. No need to RSVP for this event, just show up at noon ready to pick and stomp!

We'll have a bar set up on the patio with wine and beer for all the grown up kids who want a tasty beverage to enjoy while they stomp grapes...

And with all the grape stomping and lots of wine serving going on, we figured a few appetites might get worked up as well, so we invited Chef Roberto Simmons back to set up a pop up restaurant in the event center! 

Growing up in Texas allowed Chef Roberto Simmons the opportunity to experience the rich culinary roots of the Southwest firsthand. Now Roberto shares the experience, offering delicious meals shaped by the attitude and passion he developed for Southwestern cuisine. These days he specializes in providing a taste of Cowboy cuisine fused with European and Nuevo Latino Cuisine.
 
He'll have several different flavorful options to choose from for $3 each. Hope to see you there!

Another evening of fun and flavor awaits you at the Fall Release Party! During this Fall version of our open house, we'll be debuting six wines to go along with some delicious hors d'oeuvres cooked up by our house chefs Keith and Laura.

The dry wines that we will be pouring are the 2015 Barrel Reserve White, our smooth yet crisp barrel aged Chardonel, as well as our 2014 Barrel Reserve Red, a blend of Chambourcin and Noiret that aged over 2 years in barrel to become a fruit forward and nuanced medium bodied dry red wine.

The sweet wine lineup begins with the Dodging Tornados, our semi-sweet Chambourcin blend bursting with cherry flavors, and also features our El Gato Moscato, the newest version of our sweet white Moscato wine.

We will have a couple of specialty wines available as well, including the new blend of Holiday Spirit, our spiced white wine that's the perfect antidote to a cold winters day.

And last but certainly not least, we'll be releasing our final vintage of F5 in it's current form. Due to some trademark issues it will need to be rebranded at the start of 2018 (we'll still make it as the same wine, just with a new name that we haven't come up with yet), so this will be this port-style wine's last run under the name F5.

Keith and Laura’s menu consists of: Apricot Cheese Balls, Buffalo & Pork Meatballs, Sweet Potato Hummus, Butternut Squash Paté, Ham & Cheese Roll Ups, Baguettes and Crackers, Pumpkin Cookies, Various Cheeses, Meats & Chocolates.

This is a come and go event, so even if you can't make it right at 5:30, there will still be plenty of wine and food to be enjoyed when you do arrive. The food is considered hors d’oeuvres so please do not come expecting a full sit down meal.
